William さんが作った Flash は2009年8月あたりから公開されていたので、知っている方もいるでしょう。その Flash をまた見たくなり検索してしまいました。なかなか検索に引っかからず、ちょっと手間取ってしまいました。僕自身のメモのためにも書き残しておきます。

William さんによる「Leaving」という Flash は NEWGROUNDS というサイトにアップロードされています。登場するキャラクター(William さん) は操作できるようになっています。2Dのアクションゲームのような形態で作られています。この Flash を見たことが無い方は是非見てみることをお勧めします。William さんは UbiSoft の Developer だったらしいのですが、辞める際にこの Flash を作ったようです。

BGMが Flash に大変合っています。過ぎゆく William さんに暖かい言葉をくれる人もいて何だか嬉しくなってしまいます。前だけにしか進めず、戻ろうとすると「No way back」と出るのも良いです。

William さんと、その友人の Farbs さんに関する情報は IndieGames.com – Another Way to Quit Your Job In Style で少し得ることができます。また、Farbs さんのブログでもこの Flash の事が取り上げられています。

ラブプラスのキャラクターと結婚した男性(Sal9000 さん) からのメールが、Boing Boing (Video game wedding: a letter and photos from the bride and groom) で紹介されています。メールは日本語らしいのですが、英訳されています。僕もその英訳の文章を日本語に訳して紹介しようと思いましたが、日本語→英語→日本語という訳(わけ)の分からない事をするのはやめておきます。平和そうな日常の写真なども掲載されていますので、興味のある方は上のリンクからどうぞ。

I heard a segment on NPR about guys like him in Japan they are calling themselves Herbivores. They think that it is a rebellion against the Macho Salaryman generation of their fathers that leads them to things like marrying a Video Game. They are afraid of women because the women are more liberated and demanding.

Herbivore って何だろうと思いましたが、どうも「草食系男子」の事を言っているらしい…。あまり広めないで欲しい言葉なのですが…。

A friend of mine wrote a great article about a woman who is married to Severus Snape, once. Big ceremony, changed her last name, the whole shebang. I don’t know if the article is available online. She lived in New Zealand I think, so I’m gonna say this ‘marriage to imaginary characters’ thing isn’t a Japan-only phenomenon.

Serverus Snape(cf. Wikipedia) はハリーポッターに登場するキャラクターらしい。これは本当なのでしょうか。もしそうだとしたら、ラブプラスのキャラクターと結婚するよりも、もっとハイレベルなことだと思います。

Wow. Is there Life on Mars. Japan is a different planet…. I guess in Western world everybody would have told him “Get a life, dude”.
Must say I admire the guy for sticking to his worldview is spite of whatever they think of him. Well done! I wish them all the best.
And again, it might turn out that this marriage lasts longer than statistical average. Makes me wonder

In most Asian cultures people don’t judge you like Americans love to do.
I would never do this but hes doing what he believes will make him happy. And believing is everything. Same goes with religion and love.

上のコメントは下のコメントの返信先なので一応載せただけです。下のコメントに驚かされました。宗教と同じだと。キリスト教の二つの戒めとキェルケゴールを思い出しました。イエスの花嫁であるシスターと同じ事なのかもしれません。このようなコメントは初めて見ました。良いコメントを見る事ができました。

僕はずっと疑問に思っていることがあるのですが、ラブプラスのキャラクターはゲーム内で「あなたと結婚したい」などの言葉を言うのでしょうか。この疑問から長々と文章を書けますが、やめておきます。たぶんその言葉を言うのでしょう。

Osmos が $2.00 だったので買ってみました。Demoが公開されていますので、ちょっと興味のある人はやってみてはいかがでしょうか。このゲームを簡単に説明するとするなら、宇宙での塊魂という例えが分かりやすいと思います。周りの物体を吸収する事がこのゲームのメインです。ただ自分より大きな物体にぶつかると、逆に吸収されてしまいます。
